Rocky Top is an excellent daylily for garden color. It is 37 inches tall with 4 way branching and 25 buds (some scapes had as many as 32 buds). It is a pinched crispate uf. The flowers are 7 inches of right golden yellow with a red eye and yellow to green throat. Tiny teeth line the petal edges. It's a mid-season, semi-evergreen tetraploid. At first Rocky Top was not what I was looking for in a yellow daylily with a red eye. At the time, I wanted to breed the bagel forms. Bob, however, liked it from the beginning. As the years went on, my appreciation for ufs increased and I realized the charm of this daylily. It is fertile both ways. (Back Draft X Identity Crisis)
