Professor Ninglecut (Forestlake Laura Lee Harding X Bass Gibson) has a 37 inch scape with 3 way branching and an average of 15 buds. It is a six-inch medium violet flower with a slightly darker band and ivory to light yellow and violet teeth with a yellow throat. The presence of the violet coloration on the teeth makes this daylily interesting addition to the garden.
Professor Ninglecut is named for a character in a play written by two of our children. Koda, our son, took the role of Professor Ninglecut. We choose to name a purple daylily after this character because he wore a purple vest.

Raggedy Man (Seifert, 2012) is an dormant tetraploid daylily that blooms late season. It has 5.5 inch luscious orange blooms with a wide yellow throat and a matching yellow toothy edge. Its scape is 29 inches tall with 3 branches and 18 buds. If you like the color orange and teeth, this is a must to grow. It is also quite fertile. (Mexican Sunrise × Ruffled Strawberry Parfait)

Rocky Top

Rocky Top is an excellent daylily for garden color. It is 37 inches tall with 4 way branching and 25 buds (some scapes had as many as 32 buds). It is a pinched crispate uf. The flowers are 7 inches of right golden yellow with a red eye and yellow to green throat. Tiny teeth line the petal edges. It's a mid-season, semi-evergreen tetraploid. At first Rocky Top was not what I was looking for in a yellow daylily with a red eye. At the time, I wanted to breed the bagel forms. Bob, however, liked it from the beginning. As the years went on, my appreciation for ufs increased and I realized the charm of this daylily. It is fertile both ways. (Back Draft X Identity Crisis)

Rosalie's Smile

Rosalie's Smile (Morss, 2010) was quite a find. We bought it because it is late blooming and we really found a gem. It is a semi-evergreen tetraploid with 32 inch scapes with 4 branches and 29 buds. It flowers are 5 inches and are described in the American Hemerocallis Society database as butter yellow with a bold plum eye and edge above a green throat. To our eyes, the color is soft melon. The melon with the plum eye makes for a striking flower. The database says it is a rebloomer, but we have not observed that in our garden.

Rosie Cotton's Ribbons

We have had our eye on Rosie Cotton's Ribbons since the first bloom. Rosie Cotton's Ribbons is a semi-evergreen tetraploid with a 5.5 rich rose pink flower with yellow toothy edge. It is 22 inches tall with 2 branches and 13 buds. It is a early-mid season bloomer and reblooms well in our zone 6a/5b garden. On rebloom it often shows doubling. It is a good increaser and is fertile both ways. One of the characteristics we like best about this daylily is the rich smooth rose pink coloration. Ruffled Strawberry Parfait

Ruffled Strawberry Parfait (Reckamp-Klehm, 2003) is a dormant tetraploid daylily with 6 inch cream and pink pastel blend flowers above a gold throat. It also has a toothy edge. Its scape is 28 inches tall. Ruffled Strawberry Parfait has been an important parent in breeding for teeth. It is quite pod fertile.

Sandra Elizabeth

Sandra Elizabeth (Stevens-D., 1983) is a very late blooming dormant tetraploid with 6 inch deep yellow self flowers. Its scape is 28 inches tall. It won an Honorable Mention in 1993 and the Eugene S. Foster Award in 1993 as well.

Shirley Koch is from Canadian hybridizer Reggie Morgan. It has scapes of 34 inches with 3 branches and 14 buds. It is a midseason, dormant tetraploid with 8 inch flowers of a deep purple with a large watermark above a green throat. It is classified as an unusual form spatulate. This gift to our daughter in 2018 bloomed for the first time in 2019. We are happy to have this in our garden. The plant has large showy flowers and it is quite fertile too. Sihir is from Canadian hybridizer Daniel Matton. It is registered as a 30 inch scape with 5.5 inch flowers. It has 3 branches and 16 buds. The summer of 2018 was its first one in our garden, having been shipped in the spring. We plan to use this in our toothy programs.

Sonoran Desert Rose

Sonoran Desert Rose is a dormant tetraploid daylily with 6.5 inch light red bitone flowers with a more intense eye and some gold edge. It is registered with a 36 inch scape with 3 branches and 20+ buds. However, in the summer of 2019, it had 6 way branching with scapes of 40 inches and a bud count of 30-40+. It is a late bloomer and very fertile both ways. It is becoming of of our best parent plants with many interesting seedlings. (Ashwood Summer Sunshine X Cactus Blossom)

Stabia is from Canadian hybridizer Daniel Matton. It is registered at 53 inches with a 6 inch bloom. It is an unusual form crispate with magenta flowers with a large purple eye. It is a semi-evegreen tetraploid that blooms midseason with 4 branches and 16 buds. (sdlg × Freewheeling)

Tepin (Culver-B., 2016) was new for us in 2018 and we have not yet seen it bloom. It is registered with 35 inch scapes with 4 branches and 25 buds. It is a midseason, semi-evergreen tetraploid with 5 inch ruffled yellow gold flowers with a bright clear red eye and bold edge about a green throat. (Flamingo Carousel × Dragon Master)

Terrorsaur

Terrorsaur (Gossard, 2018) is new to the garden in the fall of 2018. It has 30 inch scapes with 4-5 way branching and 18-24 buds. It is a late season, early-morning opener, dormant tetraploid with rebloom and very good rust resistance. It is recommended by the hyridizer for USDA zones 5-10. Terrorsaur has rich, sunfast blood red color and teeth of white, gold and even red on both the petals and the sepals. We are excited to add this to our toothy program and our late-blooming program.

TrueNorth Eye in the Sky (Hobbs, 2017) is a Canadian-bred daylily. It is a dormant tetraploid with 32 inch scapes with 3 way branching and 20+buds. It is an early midseason with 5.5 inch fragrant flowers. The flowers have a dark lilac purple eye and ruffled whide edge which stands out against the near white petals. It is fertile both ways. TrueNorth Queen Bee (Sixth Sense X New Paradigm) comes from Canadian hybridizer Tim Hobbs. It is a dormant tetraploid blooming early season with 34 inch scapes with 3-4 way branching and 15 buds. The flower is 5.75 inches and is deep saturated golden yellow with large burgundy eye and a fine wavy burgundy edge. According to the hybridizer, it sets pods easily and is fertile both ways.

Witch King of Angmar

Witch King of Angmar is a great dark daylily for garden display. It features 6 inch maroon flowers with a slight watermark. The maroon moves into a red over yellow area before going to a yellow to green throat. Its scapes are 36 inches tall with 4 way branching and 24 buds. We have seen 6 way branching with 38 buds. It's a great grower and quite hardy in our zone 6a west central Indiana garden. It is a mid-late and semi-evergreen tetraploid. We have also seen rebloom. It is a sibling to 2021's Elderberry Wine.
